FAQ
What's next after booking my date?
WEDDINGS: If you have an engagement session included in your collection, please get ready for it. You would need to set a date, time and place for it. Please contact me and the place for available dates and times. Also, don't forget about the photo shoot on the day of. Same idea, choose a location and book it as soon as you can. Please find the locations link for a list of recommended places at the bottom of this page.
WINTER WEDDINGS: Be aware that daylight is shorter during winter season. Please plan the timeline of the day accordingly. Specially the photo shoot, it needs to END at least 30 minutes before sunset. You can go to google to find sunset time for your date ;)
XVs: If you have 1 or 2 photo shoots in your collection, please start making plans for them. These can be done before the event. I like to recommend the informal first (if any) and then the formal one. Contact me and the spot you want for available dates and times. Please find the locations link for a list of recommended places at the bottom of this page.
What could I expect from my photo shoot?
Photo shoot length is from 60 to 90 minutes or 40 to 60 minutes if you choose to have on the day of the event. Turnaround time is 1 to 2 weeks. Files will be delivered in a downloadable online gallery. If prints are included, there will be a set of instructions with the gallery.
For informal/casual sessions it's recommended to bring 2 outfits: formal, informal, cocktail dresses, night dresses, tuxedos, jeans, shorts, etc. You could also bring props of your own like books, balloons, save the date signs, etc. Anything to make it more about you, more personal. Make sure you ask the photo location for permission before bringing them.
Can I get additional photo shoots?
Yes, you can. You can add as many as you want. Almost always 2 sessions are enough. But sometimes a third can be needed specially for brides looking for a Bridal Session (only her) or maybe a quinceañera looking for additional looks and places.
Please find the photo session info link at the bottom of this page.
Can you photograph my bridal shower too?
Yes! For bridal showers we have 3 by-the-hour packages suitable for these kind of events. Hours are to be consecutives, one place.
Please find the by-the-hour packages link at the bottom of this page.
What's the turnaround time for my pictures files?
You will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within 1 to 2 weeks for photo shoots and 4 to 6 weeks for full events. Sometimes less depending on the season I photograph your story.
Faster delivery of photo files is available upon request:
For photo sessions (24 to 36 hours): $45.
For full events (24 to 72 hours): $225.
What's the turnaround time for my prints?
Once you have chosen your files to print, they can take 2 to 4 weeks to be ready for pick up. Photo book (if included) might take longer, 3 to 6 weeks.
What's the turnaround time for my video?
Before we can start working on the editing of the video, we need 2 things from you: music selection for the video editing and printing selection finished and sent (if any). Once we have these, we will start on the editing process. It will take about 2 to 4 weeks to be ready.
We like to work the editing of the video and printing process (if any) together so we can hopefully have it all at the same time for delivery.
Do you do edits on my photos?
Sure! There are 2 editing processes:
Basic process: ALL pictures go through this. Here is where I individually fix each one of them in their basic aspects such as lighting, darks, colors, framing, etc. Also, some filters are added here: black and whites, film looking, saturation or desaturation of colors, etc.
Deeper process: only those files chosen to print in large: 20x24 and larger and those files that go in the photo book (if any) go through this process. Details like skin, backgrounds, body shape, clothing, etc. are worked in this process. All of this on top of the basic edits. These are considered "in-house" edits.
Custom, personalized edits such as change of backgrounds, clothing fixes (wrinkles), hair and make-up imperfections, etc. caused by carelessness, can also be fixed and might cause an additional fee depending on the complexity of the request.
If there is a photo you are not planning to print, but still would like to have it edited, there is a fee starting at $15 and up depending on the complexity of the edits.
Can I print on my own?
Yes, you can print on your own. All photos are delivered with a full resolution (300 dpi), printable in up to 11x14 size. If you're looking to print larger, full size and resolution files are available at request:
$165 photo shoot
$250 event
What can I expect from my wedding/XV day?
Your big day is divided into chapters in a timeline. Roughly explained like this:
First, we have the GETTING READY part, which is where you get dressed. Usually your parents' house, hotel, or airbnb. Then, there is the CEREMONY where we go with the flow of it. We have the formal PHOTO SHOOT after ceremony. A photo spot has to be previously booked for this part of the day. Then, we would end the day at the RECEPTION where we stay for up to five hours.
Sometimes the photo shoot of the day-of is switched with the ceremony in the timeline. This might be mostly because of the sunset time of the day or other reasons. If it is switched, then a First look is worked out before starting with the pictures.
The day before the wedding, I like to send out a text confirming all parts in the timeline for your day.
What is "getting ready"?
Getting ready is where you get dressed. This part is set on the timeline 2 hours before the next event. This could be the ceremony (most likely), the photo shoot or the reception. So, if the ceremony time is at 4pm, then getting ready will be at 2pm. If it is at 5pm, then 3pm. We only need 1 hour for this part of the day, but we like to leave 1 hour in between for emergency/etcetera/whatnot. So, let's say getting ready is at 2pm then it would be until 3pm. 3pm to 4pm would be for you to do whatever you want: rest, relax, eat, drink, or drive to the next place. Getting ready is not really coverage of your make-up and hair, but sometimes it could be there. We prefer to focus on the getting dressed process. First thing we do when we show up is take pictures of the dress by itself (if available). When done with these photos, we would give it away to put on. While getting dressed, we take pictures/video of the rest of the items: shoes, earrings, rings, bouquet, garter, etc. (if available). Once dress is worn, we like to take pictures with mom, dad, siblings, maid of honor, bridal party, etc. (if available). If no one is there, solo photos are great too. After we get these pictures taken, it is time for next phase: ceremony, photo session or reception.
If the groom's getting ready is included (this is additional to the package), what we need from him is to be 100% dressed 15 minutes before we arrive. If family/friends are going to share this moment, they also need to be fully dressed. We would then ask for the groom's jacket, shoes, tie/bow and cufflinks for pictures (if available). If mom and dad are there, they help him get dressed. Same thing with siblings or friends if present. If no one is there, solo pictures are okay too. Groom's getting ready is set before the Bride's Getting ready on the timeline.
How the ceremony goes?
It could be long or short, at a church, venue, temple, garden or house. We would arrive before the ceremony starts so we can get some establishing shots. Other than this, there is not much to do until the ceremony actually begins. Once it does, we go with the flow until it is finished. At the end of the ceremony there is a 10 to 15 minutes slot for family/friends pictures. After we are done with this, we are ready for the next chapter: formal photo session or reception.
How is a photo shoot on a wedding day?
This photo shoot could be placed between the getting ready and ceremony (first look) or between ceremony and reception (most typical). It is very important to have the spot previously booked for these pictures. This photo session might take about 40 minutes (more or less) depending on the timeline of the day and the arriving/leaving time to the photo spot. If you previously had the engagement session with me, this would be very similar, but in a shorter time. Guidance will come from me: poses and ideas. If you have something in mind for these pictures, do not hesitate to let me know. The more ideas, the better. There is a list of locations at the bottom of this website that will help you find a place for this photo session.
How is the reception coverage?
All of our full packages (collection I, II and III) come with a timeframe coverage specific for the reception: up to 5 hours. During this time most (if not all) events scheduled for the reception are covered: presentation, toast, cake, bouquet toss, garter toss, surprise dances, gifts, send off, etc. If more hours are needed, you can approach me there on the spot to request additional time. During the reception, we will be there for you always around and ready (except for restroom breaks haha). Please do not hesitate to ask for pictures or video, remember we are there for that purpose. As soon as we consider the event has been covered or the 5 hours timeframe is getting to its end, I will come talk to you before leaving to make sure everything went well (please do not send us home with a plate of cake). After we leave, I like to send out a follow up text message explaining what’s next: post production turnaround times and probably some special requests for both, photo and video.
Can I do a First Look with my fiancé?
Yes, of course. This happens when the photo shoot on the day-of is placed before the ceremony. We like to prepare a stage for this first look. Unless you have something in mind for this part, we would guide you through this process. Most weddings in winter go with this since daylight is very short.
What is next after receiving our material?
Once we have your wedding/XV material ready (prints and video) we will let you know so we can arrange a meeting for pick up. Once you receive it, it is very important to work on a back-up of the digital files. For this, purchase a new USB or external hard drive, transfer the files and safekeep them at your best.
Our responsibility of your files ends once we have delivered the USBs with them. However, I like to keep photos for as long as possible. If you loose them, contact me, I might still have them 😊 Online gallery will stay active for another 10 days after the delivery of material in case you need to download additional files.
Video, on the other side, is only kept for 10 days after the delivery date for possible corrections. 4K videos take a large amount of space in hard drives, so after 10 days it gets deleted.
